Benefits of Bone Broth for Dogs and Cats

• Joint Health: Bone broth is rich in collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin, which are beneficial for joint health. These nutrients can help alleviate joint pain, reduce inflammation, and improve mobility in ageing pets or those with arthritis.

• Digestive Health: The Gelatine found in bone broth helps soothe and heal the digestive tract, making it an excellent choice for pets with sensitive stomachs or digestive issues.

• Immune Support: The amino acids in bone broth, such as glycine and proline, help support a healthy immune system in dogs and cats. Regular consumption of bone broth can strengthen the immune response and enhance your pet's ability to fight infections and diseases.

• Hydration: Bone broth is a flavourful and hydrating option for pets, especially those recovering from illness or surgery. It provides essential moisture while also delivering a range of beneficial nutrients. It can also aid in the absorption of nutrients and improve overall gut health. We can further enhance its benefits by infusing bone broth with this specialised water. Why Nano-Bubble Oxygen Spring Water is an Added Game-Changer

The additional advantages:

Enhanced Nutrient Absorption: The presence of nano-bubble oxygen in the water may enhance the absorption of nutrients from the bone broth. With improved blood oxygen levels, the body's cells can metabolise nutrients more efficiently, ensuring your pet gets the maximum benefit from every sip.

Supports Digestive Health: Oxygen plays a vital role in the digestive process. By increasing oxygen levels in the gastrointestinal tract, nano-bubble oxygenated water can help break down food more effectively, aiding digestion and nutrient absorption. This can be particularly beneficial when combined with the gut-healing properties of bone broth.

Boosts Immune Function: Adequate oxygen levels are crucial for a healthy immune system, keeping your pet resilient against illnesses and infections.

Increased Hydration and Taste: Pets prefer fresh, clean water free from forever chemicals. The increased oxygen in OxyPet offers this and a much smoother, cleaner taste that pets love.

Supports Joint Health: Bone broth is already known for its joint-supporting nutrients like collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin. Nano-bubble oxygen (NB's) can further support joint health by ensuring these nutrients are delivered efficiently throughout the body, helping to maintain mobility and comfort.

By leveraging the innovative technology of nano-bubble oxygenation in OxyPet spring water, you can supercharge the already beneficial bone broth, offering a synergistic blend of hydration, nutrition, oxygenation and wellness for your pet's optimal health.  Recipe by Anna Shaw (Canine Nutrition Specialist at Paws Naturally)

The Super Charged Bone Broth

• Preferably organic, grass-fed beef bones or organic chicken carcass, but you can use any bone. For my recipe, I've personally used Beef Bones, Pig Trotters and Duck Feet.

• Two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar - with the Mother

• Optional - One tablespoon of turmeric powder for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Also use freshly cracked black pepper that contains a compound called Piperine, this enhances the absorption of turmeric's active compound, Curcumin.

• Use two bottles of OxyPet (750ml x 2 = 1.5L) to cover the bones so you have plenty for your pets.

Cooking Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to (200°C /180 Fan /Gas Mark 6). Place the bones on a baking tray and roast for 30 minutes to enhance the flavour; this, for me, is optional, and I have had a tasty success with just boiling the bones from raw.

2. Transfer the roasted bones to a large stockpot, slow cooker or pressure cooker with apple cider vinegar with the Mother, turmeric powder and fresh cracked black pepper. Then use the OxyPet to cover the bones.

3. On the stove/oven, bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 12-24 hours; or longer!

• With a slow cooker, put it on high for the first hour, then reduce to low for the remainder of the time.

• With a pressure cooker, I usually pop my recipe in for 4- 6 hours max. The longer the simmering time, the richer and more flavourful the broth.

4. Skim off any impurities or, as some call it, "the scum" that rises to the surface during simmering; however, if using a pressure cooker, you will have to wait until the cook has completely finished doing this.

5. Once the broth is ready, strain it through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove any solids.

6. Allow the broth to cool before storing it in airtight containers or popping it into moulds ready for the freezer. You can refrigerate your broth for up to 5 days or freeze in moulds/ice cubes for a longer shelf life.

7. Do not be tempted to feed your fluffy friend those cooked bones as they can splinter, which may lead to injuries. So they must now go straight in the bin.

Bone broth offers numerous benefits for the health and well-being of dogs and cats. By supercharging it with OxyPet nano-bubble oxygenated spring water, we can provide our pets with enhanced hydration, boosted immune function and enhanced energy levels.

Super Charged Bone Broth can help promote faster recovery from exercise or illness and support overall health and well-being.

It's essential to recognise that while bone broth may aid in supporting joint health, it should not be seen as a solitary remedy for joint conditions or degenerative issues.

Should your pet be facing notable joint problems, consulting with your pet's healthcare professional is always advisable. Bone broth isn't a cure, but it can help alleviate some discomfort and it tastes fantastic!
